Julia Fernandez-Pol is a Los Angeles based artist whose work deals with painting, intense chroma, and overwhelming surface quality generated by a duality of materiality/immateriality. Interested in emerging relationships between rococo aesthetic, fetishized surface qualities and a core curiosity in nature, science, and light to result in a visceral experience. She has attended several prestigious residencies including Yaddo, Oehme Graphics, Riverhouse Editions, and the Vermont Studio Center. She has also had several solo shows and been included in group shows around the US, China, and Argentina. Fernandez-Pol holds a masters in fine arts from Boston University and a bachelors degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
